Job Description
As an Information Technology (IT) Program Manager, you'll work with a team of IT Specialists to provide technical customer support, assist in managing IT systems projects, & performing program/project analyses. The GS-11 salary range starts at $75,788 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. To qualify, applicants applying for the GS-11 grade level must either: A. Have IT-related experience demonstrating EACH of the four competencies (must be supported by the information contained in your resume and other application materials) AND one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service as described below: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS: Attention to Detail- Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service- Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services, is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication- Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations, listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving- Identifies problems, determines accuracy and relevance of information, uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Specialized experience includes coordinating and providing technical support, contributing to system improvement initiatives, and aligning IT services with program goals. Experience must also demonstrate the ability to apply analytical methods to assess program effectiveness and recommend process or system improvements. OR B. Possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. related to the position. Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above
