Job Description
This position is located in the Visitor Engagement Office, Center for Learning, Literacy and Engagement, Chief of Staff, Office of the Librarian. The Library of Congress is establishing an institution-wide volunteer program that will enable the organization to expand program offerings, advance departmental goals, and create institution-wide capacity through volunteers equipped to support the institution in a broad variety of roles.
**Qualifications:**
Applicants must have had progressively responsible experience and training sufficient in scope and quality to furnish them with an acceptable level of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position without more than normal supervision. Ability to develop, organize and manage a major institution-wide volunteer program for a large cultural institution.** Ability to adapt to changing circumstances while working in a variety of environments.** Ability to work collaboratively and interact with diverse groups, especially volunteers.** Knowledge of industry standards for developing major institution-wide volunteer programming, including related resource deployment, policies and procedures, for a large cultural institution. Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing.
