Engineering Technician

About the Position: Serves as the technical expert within the Agency on individual responsibilities that include the operation, development, and final product of transportation engineering studies in the areas of traffic engineering and safety seminars.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Interpreting transportation engineering plans, studies, and/or specifications; 2) Applying transportation engineering principles to take corrective action on technical problems; and 3) Presenting technical data in order to defend or negotiate a program's results. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-10).
